Conservatives to vet GOP 2016 hopefuls at CPAC

Pat Toomey.The Republican Party is making efforts to limit the amount of intra-party savaging by limiting the number of presidential primary debates and holding its convention a month earlier."There are lots of people who want (Republicans) to settle on the (leading) candidate sooner,'' compared to the flavor-of-the-month approach of the 2012 primaries, Schlapp says. His concern: "important and influential Republicans would settle on a nominee too soon, and there wouldn't be enough time for voters to see how they react when they're asked questions.''In the rivalry between grass-roots and establishment Republicans, CPAC is where the grass-roots gets a shot. "If a front-runner emerges, let's make sure that front-runner has had to run the gauntlet of CPAC,'' Schlapp says.That should be fun for Jeb Bush, who supports a comprehensive immigration overhaul and Common Core educational standards, two issues on which the GOP is increasingly divided. Similarly, Christie has also supported Common Core and expanded Medicaid in New Jersey after the Affordable Care Act was passed, not to mention his brief bromance with President Obama in 2012 after Superstorm Sandy.On divisive issues like immigration and Common Core, "Republicans have to stop acting like pregnant teenagers who say,'I'm just going to ignore it and it will go away,' " says Republican pollster Kellyanne Conway. "You might as well confront it while you have an open mike … in front of thousands of activists.''Conway, who is on the board of the American Conservative Union that sponsors CPAC, says Bush and Christie should jump in with both feet. "If Jeb Bush says, 'here's what I meant when I said illegal immigration is an "act of love" ' and says 'here's my four-point plan on what I would do as president,' you will hear a pin drop."Bush will take questions from Sean Hannity of Fox News, and will not deliver prepared remarks like other 2016 candidates."Jeb will do fine,'' says Ana Navarro, the GOP consultant who is a Bush supporter. "The crowd will see that he answers questions directly and truthfully. We've seen in his recent question-and-answer session that he's authentic and keeps it real. I think the CPAC crowd will appreciate that.''Be specific, says Jenny Beth Martin, a Tea Party leader and regular CPAC speaker, "What we want to hear ... is not just them saying they support the values that we share or the issues we want,'' she says. "If they're thinking about running for president they should have a plan for how to address these problems. These problems aren't new. We've had six years.''And be real, Appel says. In 2012, Mitt Romney told the CPAC audience he was "severely conservative.'' He struggled for the rest of the campaign to persuade grass-roots voters that was true."He was never able to overcome the subtext of a lack of authenticity,'' Appel says. "It never sold and it was a harbinger of things to come."Not only candidates will be vetted at CPAC. Gregory T. Angelo of the group Log Cabin Republicans will appear on a panel to discuss Russian leader Vladimir Putin.Appearing on the panel is a chance for the Log Cabin group to show it is engaged in "the full spectrum of Republican issues,'' Angelo says, before activists "who are perhaps dubious of our own conservative bona fides or are suspicious of us as the 'gay marriage Republicans.' ''He sees little appetite for a discussion of same-sex marriage at CPAC this year. Australia says about 40% of MH370 search area covered

Australia’s Joint Agency Coordination Centre says about 40% of the area has been covered. – AFP pic, February 25, 2015.Australian search authorities tasked with locating Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has covered over 24,000 sq km of seafloor in a remote area of the Indian Ocean, which is around 40% of the search area.National news agency Bernama quoted the Joint Agency Coordination Centre (JACC) as saying in a statement that the current underwater search area may be largely completed around May, assuming there were no other significant delays with vessels, equipment or from the weather.Two ships were conducting underwater search and recovery, and two more ships were on the way to assist in the SAR, it said in a statement today.The Malaysian contracted vessel Go Phoenix and Dutch vessel Fugro Discovery are conducting underwater search operations.Fugro Equator is expected to arrive in the search area tomorrow while Fugro Supporter is expected to arrive in the search area on Sunday."In addition to locating the aircraft, the underwater search aims to map the MH370 debris field in order to identify and prioritise the recovery of specific aircraft components, including flight recorders, which will assist the Malaysian investigation," it said.JACC said the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) has utilised the data from the bathymetric survey work to prepare the initial plan for the underwater search, to be followed and referred to by all parties involved. "The plan includes search timings, methods, procedures, safety precautions and the initial search areas for the various vessels," it said.Touching on the weather, it said weather conditions in the search area were expected to be favourable this week, with sea levels anticipated to rise no higher than 3. Overall conditions are expected to continue to be generally favourable during the warmer months, it added.Bernama yesterday reported that Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the search would continue and the data provided by Inmarsat and the Air Traffic Control Centre showed that MH370 was heading towards the southern Indian Ocean.The Boeing 777 flight MH370 with its 12 crew and 227 passengers disappeared from the radar screen while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, about an hour after departing the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at about 12.41 am on March 8 last year.Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced on March 24 last year that flight MH370 had ended in a secluded spot in the southern Indian Ocean.On January 29, the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation announced that the misfortune was an accident based on international aviation rules and all 239 of its passengers and crew died.  – February 25, 2015.

เมื่อวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ อ้างอิงจากผู้เกี่ยวข้องจาก Mnet ระบุว่า จองจุนยองกับชเวยอจินได้คอนเฟิร์มเข้าร่วมแสดงในบทคู่รักต่างวัยในละครเรื่อง ‘The Lover’ เรียบร้อยแล้ว

ผู้เกี่ยวข้องเปิดเผยว่า “จองจุนยองกับชเวยอจินจะรับบทเป็นคู่รักต่างวัยที่อายุห่างกัน 12 ปี และอาศัยอยู่ด้วยกันในเรื่องครับ” เสริม “โดยจองจุนยองจะรับบทเป็นชายหนุ่มที่มีอายุน้อยกว่า ส่วนชเวยอจินรับบทเป็นหญิงสาวที่มีอายุมากกว่าครับ”

โดยในเรื่อง จองจุนยองจะรับบทเป็นมือกีตาร์วงดนตรี ส่วนชเวยอจินจะรับบทเป็นหญิงสาวที่ดูแลร้านขายของชำออนไลน์

ก่อนหน้าจองจุนยองกับชเวยอจิน โอจองเซ (Oh Jung Se) กับรยูฮยอนคยอง (Ryu Hyun Kyung) ได้คอนเฟิร์มเข้าร่วมแสดงในบทคู่รักที่อาศัยอยู่ด้วยกันแล้ว ซึ่งนอกเหนือจากทั้ง 4 คนแล้ว ยังมี พัคจงฮวาน (Park Jong Hwan) กับฮาอึนซอล (Ha Eun Sul) เข้าร่วมแสดงในบทคู่รักมือใหม่ที่อาศัยอยู่ด้วยกันด้วย

อนึ่ง ‘The Lover’ เป็นมินิดราม่าที่เล่าถึงเรื่องราวของคู่รักหลายคู่ที่อาศัยอยู่ด้วยกัน จัดทำขึ้นในรูปแบบ Omnibus ความยาวทั้งหมด 12 ตอน และมีกำหนดจะออกอากาศในเดือนเมษายนนี้

Seorang pegawai Jabatan Hutan Daerah Hulu Perak dijatuhi hukuman denda RM70,000 atau tujuh bulan penjara oleh Mahkamah Sesyen Ipoh selepas mengaku menerima rasuah RM100,000 daripada seorang kontraktor balak, tiga tahun lepas.Hakim Rihaida Rafie turut mengarahkan wang tunai RM768,970 milik Amir Sharifud-din Aliman, 61, yang dirampas dari rumah tertuduh serta wang berjumlah RM3,103,324.71 dalam 12 akaun milik isteri dan empat anaknya (jumlah keseluruhan RM3.872 juta) dilucut serta diserah kepada kerajaan Malaysia.Mahkamah membuat keputusan itu selepas tertuduh menukar pengakuannya kepada bersalah pada prosiding semalam.Sebelum ini, pada 1 Februari 2013, Amir Sharifud-din mengaku tidak bersalah di dua Mahkamah Sesyen atas 12 pertuduhan menerima rasuah berjumlah RM390,000 daripada dua kontraktor balak antara April 2010 dan Januari 2012.Dia turut berdepan dakwaan gagal menyerahkan pernyataan bersumpah bagi menjelaskan mengenai harta berlebihan yang dimilikinya pada 26 September 2013.Terdahulu, Timbalan Pendakwa Raya Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM), A.Hafiizh Abu Bakar memohon mahkamah menggugurkan 12 lagi pertuduhan yang dihadapi Amir Sharifud-din itu selepas dia menukar pengakuannya.Mengikut pertuduhan, Amir Sharifud-din menerima wang itu dengan tiada balasan daripada Ismail Abdul Manas di depan Kafe Bawang Merah, No 8281, Jalan Suda Bahagia, Gerik pukul 9 malam, 3 Januari 2012.Peguam Saw Hoe Teck pula memohon anak guamnya dikenakan hukuman denda atas alasan Amir Sharifud-din menghidap penyakit jiwa iaitu 'Kecelaruan Afektif Dwikutub' yang disahkan pakar psikiatri Hospital Fatimah Ipoh dan masih menjalani rawatan susulan."Tertuduh dan isterinya juga tidak bekerja. Malah wang yang ada di dalam akaunnya dan anggota keluarganya sudah disita. Mohon hukuman denda yang rendah," katanya.A. Hafiizh memohon agar tertuduh dikenakan hukuman setimpal dan meminta mahkamah mengambil kira 12 pertuduhan yang digugurkan sebagai pemberat ketika menjatuhkan hukuman.- Bernama

               สะพานอุตตมานุสรณ์ หรือเป็นที่รู้จักกันอย่างแพร่หลายว่า "สะพานมอญ" ถูกสร้างขึ้นโดยดำริของ หลวงพ่ออุตตมะ เจ้าอาวาสวัดวังก์วิเวการาม ในปี พ.ศ. 2529-2530 โดยใช้แรงงานของชาวมอญ เพื่อเป็นสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำซองกาเรีย และใช้เป็นเส้นทางสัญจรไป-มาของชาวมอญและชาวไทยที่อาศัยอยู่บริเวณนี้ และปัจจุบันก็ได้กลายเป็นอีกหนึ่งที่เที่ยวสำคัญของจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี

              สะพานไม้ข้ามหนองแกดำ ตั้งอยู่ที่เทศบาลตำบลแกดำ อำเภอแกดำ ถือเป็นสะพานไม้เก่าแก่อีกแห่งหนึ่งของจังหวัดมหาสารคาม ซึ่งมีความยาวเกือบ 1 กิโลเมตร ทัศนียภาพโดยรอบเต็มไปด้วยความสวยงามของบึงบัวแน่นหนองน้ำ ในยามเช้าอากาศจะสดชื่นเหมาะแก่การมาเที่ยวพักผ่อนหรือถ่ายรูปสวย ๆ และในช่วงที่ดอกบัวพร้อมใจกันเบ่งบานเป็นสีชมพูก็เช่นกัน ทำให้สะพานไม้แห่งนี้อบอวลไปด้วยความโรแมนติก

4. สะพานแขวนสมโภช กรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ 200 ปี, จังหวัดตาก

              สะพานสมโภชกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ 200 ปี หรือที่เรียกว่า "สะพานแขวน" สร้างเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2525 โดยองค์การบริหารส่วนจังหวัดตาก เพื่อสมโภชกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ 200 ปี โดยมีขนาดกว้าง 2.50 เมตร ยาว 700 เมตร เพื่อเชื่อมระหว่างตัวเมืองตากและตำบลป่ามะม่วง บนสะพานมียังมีทางเท้าสำหรับเดินชมทิวทัศน์แม่น้ำปิงระยะทางยาวประมาณ 400 เมตร และมีการประดับไฟสวยงามในยามค่ำคืน อีกทั้งยังเป็นจุดสำคัญสำหรับจัดงานประเพณีลอยกระทงโดยเป็นกระทงที่ทำจากกะลามะพร้าวไปตามแม่น้ำปิง ซึ่งในช่วงประเพณีดังกล่าวจะมีมีผู้มาเยือนสะพานสะพานแขวนสมโภชฯ กันอย่างเนืองแน่นเลยทีเดียว

5. สะพานไม้บึงบัว เขาสามร้อยยอด, จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์

              อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาสามร้อยยอด มีลักษณะภูมิประเทศเป็นเทือกเขาหินปูนทอดตัวเป็นแนวยาวขนานไปกับชายฝั่งทะเลอ่าวไทย และมีความหลากหลายทางธรรมชาติ ทั้งหาดทราย หาดเลนโคลน เวิ้งอ่าว ป่าชายเลน ลำคลอง ทุ่งน้ำจืดธรรมชาติ รวมทั้งบึงบัว ที่นี่จึงเป็นแหล่งอาหารอันอุดมสมบูรณ์ของเหล่านกน้ำ นกชายเลน และนกทะเล มีนกที่พบในพื้นที่กว่า 300 ชนิด และมีจุดชมวิวสวย ๆ อยู่ที่บริเวณ "สะพานไม้บึงบัว" โดยเฉพาะในช่วงที่ดอกบัวหลวงบานสะพรั่งไปทั่วทุ่ง ทำให้สะพานไม้แห่งนี้ดูงดงามราวกับดินแดนในเทพนิยายเลยทีเดียว

6. สะพานแขวนแก่งกระจาน

              อุทยานแห่งชาติแก่งกระจาน มีพื้นที่ครอบคลุมท้องที่อำเภอหนองหญ้าปล้อง อำเภอแก่งกระจาน จังหวัดเพชรบุรี และอำเภอหัวหิน จังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติที่มีพื้นที่มากที่สุดในประเทศไทย มีสภาพป่าที่อุดมสมบูรณ์ และเป็นป่าต้นน้ำของแม่น้ำเพชรบุรีและแม่น้ำปราณบุรี แถมยังมีลักษณะเด่นทางธรรมชาติที่สำคัญหลายแห่ง เช่น ทะเลสาบ น้ำตก ถ้ำ หน้าผาที่สวยงาม รวมทั้งสะพานไม้ซึ่งถือเป็นจุดชมวิวสวย ๆ ในแก่งกระจานด้วย โดยเฉพาะในช่วงฤดูหนาวสามารถมาชมทะเลหมอกสวย ๆ ได้จากชุดนี้เลยค่ะ

7. ทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติป่าชายเลนอ่าวคุ้งกระเบน, จังหวัดจันทบุรี



              ศูนย์ศึกษาการพัฒนาอ่าวคุ้งกระเบน อันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ ครอบคลุมพื้นที่อ่าวคุ้งกระเบนและพื้นที่โดยรอบ ศูนย์ศึกษาการพัฒนาฯ แห่งนี้มีหน้าที่ศึกษาค้นคว้าและวิจัยในเรื่องระบบนิเวศทางธรรมชาติเพื่อเป็นแนวทางการพัฒนาที่เหมาะสมต่อสภาพพื้นที่ชายฝั่งทะเลจังหวัดจันทบุรี และยังเป็นศูนย์ฯ ที่สร้างขึ้นเพื่อให้ประชาชนที่สนใจเข้ามาศึกษาสภาพธรรมชาติ เพื่อให้เกิดความเข้าใจเรื่องระบบนิเวศในป่าชายเลนและรู้จักใช้ทรัพยากรเหล่านี้ให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุด

              ภายในศูนย์ฯ ยังมีการสร้างสะพานเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติและป่าชายเลนอ่าวคุ้งกระเบนเป็นระยะทาง 1,600 เมตร เพื่อชมความสวยงามของธรรมชาติ พร้อมกับสร้างศาลาขนาดเล็กไว้เป็นระยะ แถมยังมีจุดที่ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับป่าชายเลนอีกด้วย นอกจากนี้นักท่องเที่ยวยังจะได้เห็นสัตว์น้ำตัวเล็ก ๆ อย่างปลาตีน ปูแสม และแมงดาทะเล กระทั่งเมื่อเดินต่อไปเรื่อย ๆ ก็จะมาถึงจุดสำคัญสุดท้าย คือ ศาลาชมวิว ที่สร้างยื่นออกไปในอ่าว จากจุดนี้สามารถมองเห็นแนวป่าชายเลนที่ทอดตัวขนานไปกับผืนน้ำอย่างสวยงาม ซึ่งถือเป็นไฮไลท์ของที่นี่เลย

8. สะพานไม้ ศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติและอนุรักษ์ป่าชายเลนเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ, จังหวัดชลบุรี

              ศูนย์ศึกษาธรรมชาติและอนุรักษ์ป่าชายเลนเพื่อการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ มีเนื้อที่ประมาณ 300 ไร่ จัดเป็นพื้นที่ป่าชายเลนที่สมบูรณ์ที่สุดผืนสุดท้ายของจังหวัดชลบุรีที่หลงเหลืออยู่ และยังมีการจัดทำเส้นทางเดินศึกษาธรรมชาติเป็นสะพานไม้ยาว 2,300 เมตร ซึ่งถือเป็นสะพานไม้ที่ยาวที่สุดในประเทศไทยด้วย โดยผู้เข้าชมจะได้พบเห็นดงต้นโกงกางที่ขึ้นอยู่อย่างหนาแน่นซึ่งนอกจากจะช่วยกำบังคลื่นลมทะเลได้เป็นอย่างดีแล้ว เรือนรากโกงกางเหล่านี้ยังกลายเป็นแหล่งอนุบาลสัตว์น้ำ คุณจึงมองเห็นสัตว์น้ำชนิดต่าง ๆ ทั้งลูกปลา ปลาตีน  ปูก้ามดาบ กุ้ง นกกินเปี้ยว รวมทั้งนกยางที่บินวนเวียนมาดักซุ่มจับปลากินเป็นอาหาร ถือเป็นที่พักต่างอากาศชั้นดีใกล้กรุงที่ควรค่าแก่การไปพักผ่อนหย่อนใจ

9. สะพานไม้ ทุ่งโปรงทอง ปากน้ำประแส, จังหวัดระยอง

              ตำบลปากน้ำประแสเป็นชุมชนริมแม่น้ำตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยา บริเวณนี้มีจุดท่องเที่ยวที่น่าสนใจ ได้แก่ ชายหาดแหลมสน, ชายหาดประแส รวมทั้งสะพานไม้ชมป่าชายเลน ทุ่งโปรงทอง ซึ่งเป็นสะพานไม้ที่สร้างจากเงินกองทุนหมู่บ้าน และทอดแนวยาวลัดเลาะไปตามแนวต้นโกงกาง และไปบรรจบกับปลายสะพานทุ่งโปรงทอง โดยสะพานแห่งนี้ทอดไปสิ้นสุดที่ทะเลประแส แถมบริเวณใกล้เคียงยังมีแม่น้ำประแสซึ่งเป็นจุดชมหิ่งห้อยในยามค่ำคืนอีกด้วย

สะพานข้ามลำน้ำงาว หรือ สะพานโยง, ลำปาง

            สะพานโยงเริ่มสร้างเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2469 และเปิดใช้อย่างเป็นทางการในปี พ.ศ. 2471 ตัวสะพานมีความยาว 80 เมตร กว้าง 4 เมตร เสากระโดงสองฝั่งสูง 18 เมตร เป็นสะพานเหล็กแขวนที่ใช้รอกดึง ไม่มีเสากลาง วางโครงเหล็กเหมือนทางรถไฟโดยใช้ไม้หมอนเรียงเป็นลูกระนาด ปูไม้กระดานทับเฉพาะช่วงล้อรถยนต์ มีทางเท้าทั้งสองฝั่ง และใช้สลิงยึดตลอดตัวสะพาน ซึ่งในปัจจุบันเปิดให้เฉพาะการเดินข้ามฟากเท่านั้น ไม่อนุญาตให้รถยนต์หรือรถมอเตอร์ไซค์ผ่าน เนื่องจากจะทำให้ตัวสะพานทรุด

              เชื่อเลยว่ายังมีนักท่องเที่ยวหลายคนที่ยังไม่เห็นเมืองไทยในมุมนี้มาก่อน และสะพานสวย ๆ เหล่านี้ก็ควรค่าแก่การไปเยือนจริง ๆ เพราะนอกจากบรรยากาศรอบด้านจะสดชื่นไปด้วยธรรมชาติแล้ว ยังถือเป็นแบ็คกราวด์สวย ๆ ในการถ่ายรูปด้วย ที่สำคัญยังเที่ยวสนุกกันได้ทั้งครอบครัวเลย

Utusan Melayu Bhd today recorded a pre-tax losses expanding three-fold due to lower revenue and higher impairment charges. – The Malaysian Insider pic, February 25, 2015.Utusan Melayu Bhd's pre-tax loss expanded three-fold to RM82.64 million in the financial year ending December 31, 2014, from RM20.39 million previously, due to lower revenue and higher impairment charges on trade and other receivables.Revenue dipped to RM291.32 million during the year under review, from RM342.43 million, on the back of weaker contribution from the publishing, distribution and advertising segment.The revenue from these segments in the last quarter decreased by 13.5%, mainly due to a significant reduction in advertising, said the publication company in a filing to Bursa Malaysia today.But the group expects 2015 to remain challenging in view of increasing competition for market share of advertising expenditure and newspaper circulation."Nevertheless, we will continue with our newspapers' content improvement strategies and offer creative packages for advertisements," it said.The group will also continue to adopt prudent cost saving strategies in its business operations, including undertaking measures to reduce the return rate by employing efficient allocation of newspapers and magazine supplies. – Bernama, February 25, 2015.

It is still held by jailed opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who is waiting for a decision by the King over a royal pardon submitted to the Palace by his family. – The Malaysian Insider pic, February 26, 2015.Ruling coalition Barisan Nasional will only decide on its next course of action for the Permatang Pauh parliamentary seat once the Election Commission (EC) declares a by-election for the seat currently held by jailed opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, who is also Umno president and BN chairman, said yesterday the coalition and Umno would wait for the EC's announcement before deciding on the next step as "there are constitutional matters that needed to be resolved".This follows Anwar family's move yesterday to seek a royal pardon over his sodomy conviction.PKR said that the initiative to seek a royal pardon from the King for its de facto leader, who risked losing his seat, was done by the family and not the party.

"We'll wait until the interpretation of the constitution is done before deciding," Najib told a press conference after chairing the Umno supreme council meeting in Kuala Lumpur.He said Umno will not make any announcement until the EC has made its decision on the matter and determined the status of the parliamentary seat."The EC will weigh in on the issue and once it has decided, our supreme council will make the decision," he said.On 10 February, Anwar failed in his final appeal in the Federal Court against his conviction for sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan seven years ago.Following this decision, his status an elected MP for Permatang Pauh hangs in a balance. A petition for pardon would delay Anwar’s disqualification as a lawmaker.The Federal Constitution states that the seat will not be declared vacant until the Pardons Board has deliberated and made a decision. – February 26, 2015.
